The Black Butterfly Foundation (TBBF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was relaunched in 2023 to combat domestic violence and support women and families trapped in cycles of abuse. At TBBF, we are dedicated to addressing the epidemic of domestic abuse in our communities. Our core tenets are to educate, encourage, and empower those who seek our help. We provide direct services, emotional and financial support, and essential tools and resources to restore confidence and resilience. Our goal is to help survivors overcome low self-esteem and self-doubt caused by violence and build a brighter, healthier future.
At TBBF, we are dedicated to uplifting and educating survivors who feel trapped and see no way out. We guide each survivor through a structured and comprehensive support process that includes counseling, health education, financial literacy, housing assistance, and job training.
Our strong partnerships with various community affiliates allow us to connect survivors with the tailored support they need. We focus on five key stages: helping survivors recognize abuse, seek assistance, escape their abusers, rebuild their lives, and encourage others to break free.
This journey mirrors the life stages of a butterfly, symbolizing transformation and growth. Ultimately, we reflect our mission of Unlocking the Power of "E"— Educate, Encourage, and Empower creating a supportive community where survivors can thrive and reclaim their futures.
Keke Jackson is a proud combat veteran and the embodiment of resilience. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, she has faced her adversities with unwavering grace and determination. After serving as a geospatial engineer in the military, Keke transitioned to a federal critical infrastructure officer for the CDC, where she continued to make a significant impact. Her journey didn’t stop there; Keke obtained her associate's degree in criminal justice and is currently pursuing her Bachelor's in forensic computer investigations. Her dedication to education reflects her commitment to personal growth and empowerment.
Tragically, Keke lost her mother to domestic violence, an event that profoundly shaped her life. After leaving an abusive relationship herself, she devoted seven years to raising her youngest brother, demonstrating her strength and nurturing spirit. In honor of her mother and all those affected by domestic violence, Keke decided to relaunch the remarkable foundation her mother created, ensuring that her legacy lives on.
Keke is a passionate advocate for the voiceless, lending support to those whose cries often go unheard. As a staunch supporter of domestic violence awareness, mental health, and suicide prevention, she uses her voice to spread messages of realness, power, love, and compassion. Her life mantra, "The best view comes after the climb...so keep climbing!" encapsulates her belief in perseverance and hope.
Through her work, Keke continues to inspire and uplift others, proving that even in the face of adversity, one can rise and make a difference.
